The French champions are linked to Ferran Torres this transfer window after Karim Adeyemi's pending move to Barcelona. The two clubs are negotiating a fee for the transfer, but expect it to be concluded once Barcelona has signed Adeyemi. Luis Enrique's side is looking to bolster their attack after the departure of Lee Kang-In to Atletico Madrid. Here at PSG Post, we discuss why signing Ferran Torres is ideal.
He performed relatively last season
Lamine Yamal enjoyed playing with Torres last season. In the 25/26 campaign, the 27-year-old scored 16 goals in 33 appearances. This was remarkably more than Robert Lewandowski's 14 goals in 31 matches. He improved upon his league tally in the 24/25 season, which was 10 goals in 27 appearances. The Spaniard had to make the step up this season as Lewandowski missed some games with injuries. This indicates that the player is improving and could still have played a crucial role next season, particularly if Robert Lewandowski leaves. Unfortunately, Yamal's season was cut short as he would have created more goals for Torres. It is hard to believe that the club is looking to get rid of him, as he has shown he could be a valuable asset.
The deals for other players aren't done
PSG were linked to Yan Diomande and Maghnes Akliouche strongly last week. This week, they are not much closer to getting done. This is an issue, as it will allow other clubs in Europe to step in and sign them. If the club is unable to sign either Akliouche or Diomande, then Barcola's potential move to Liverpool or Arsenal will likely fall through. This isn't ideal, as you could argue that both of those players are an upgrade on Barcola. Diomande got 12 goals and registered eight assists in 33 Bundesliga games, while Akliouche scored six goals and registered six assists in 31 Ligue 1 games. Barcola scored 12 goals and got no assists in 29 Ligue 1 games.
The club needs more attackers
Luis Enrique has quality attackers at his disposal. Currently, he can call upon Ousmane Dembélé, Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué, and Khvicha. Despite this, he needs to sign more players in this position as the club is competing in the French Cup, the Champions League, and Ligue 1. If the club doesn't try to sign more players, then they could risk fatigue in the latter stages of the European Cup, particularly if they go deep in the French Cup.
