The transfer window is starting to take shape following the conclusion of the World Cup. Lucas Digne has completed his move to the club, and Lee Kang-In has joined Atletico Madrid for a fee of around €40 million. The biggest departure from the club is Gonçalo Ramos, as Les Parisiens don't have an adequate replacement for the Portuguese international in the number nine position. Ramos has joined Italian giants AC Milan for a club record fee of more than €70 million.

Ousmane Dembélé can fill in as a striker, but his best position is out wide. They were linked to RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande before Real Madrid agreed terms with the Ivorian international. How will Yan Diomande make the step up to a big club

It is unknown how Diomande will perform for one of Europe's elite clubs. At Leipzig, he did relatively well, scoring 12 goals and registering eight assists in 33 matches, but moving to a bigger club comes with more pressure. If he doesn't hit the ground running, the Real Madrid fans will boo him, and at PSG, the 19-year-old may be dropped if he doesn't acclimatize to the league. It remains to be seen how he will respond to fierce criticism from the Spanish media after a bad performance.

He was overpriced

He could have performed better at the World Cup this summer. In the four games Diomande played, he got one assist and didn't find the back of the net. PSG's current wingers had better tournaments than the Ivorian. Bradley Barcola scored three goals and registered one assist in eight appearances, while Ousmane Dembélé scored six goals and registered two assists in eight matches. It is hard to believe that the 2025 Ballon d'Or had not scored in a major tournament before this summer's World Cup. Paying €120 million would be a gamble for a player who underwhelmed at the World Cup and might struggle at a bigger club with more pressure.

They will struggle to do other deals

If they signed Diomande, it would be harder to secure other deals, as clubs in Europe would know that the French champions have the financial means. This is an issue, as there are several positions that the PSG could strengthen, such as backup right back and a striker. Spending over €100 million on a winger will make it more difficult to sell players, as clubs will know that the European champions are desperate to get rid of players.
