Less than three weeks before the second Champions League final of their history, Paris Saint-Germain led by Luis Enrique have undoubtedly cemented their status as one of Europe's best side, while the 2024/2025 campaign have proved to be the most complete and transformative season in the club's history.

Obviously, Paris' incredible's season would be better if they were to achieve Champions League glory at Munich against Inter Milan on May 31. However, the numerous changes operated by Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Luis Enrique on and off the pitch have positively changed the club for the foreseeable future.

Squad Identity & Tactical Maturity

Following Kylian Mbappé's departure to Real Madrid over the summer, many fans and observers feared that the club would struggle on the European stage, while losing arguably the best player in their history.

However, Luis Enrique saw in the departure of the French superstar an opportunity to give more responsibilities to players such as Vitinha, Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola. The Spaniard then change his side into a more team-oriented unit, relying less on individual brilliance from their star players, marking a break from the Neymar-Messi-Mbappé era.

Luis Enrique's influence on his team have been pivotal in their historical campaign so far. Additionally, his tactical approach and his near perfect game time management have allowed the club to compete in multiple competitions while avoiding injuries to their key players all season.

Furthermore, with the unconditional support of his board, the Spaniard has led the team to new heights on and off the pitch as the club cemented their status as one of Europe's best team under his management while contributing to dramatically improve the relationship with the fans.

Off-pitch Transformation & Domestic Dominance

Since QSI's takeover, Paris Saint-Germain has become a star-studded team, signing some of the biggest names in Europe such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Neymar Jr. or Lionel Messi. However, these many stars were never able to bring Champions League glory to the French capital.

Furthermore, these signings combined with the numerous European heartbreaks have negatively impacted the relationship between the club and the fans throughout the years, with many fans feeling that the club has lost its identity.

Nonetheless, since Luis Enrique's arrival, the club started a new era behind Nasser Al-Khelaifi's leadership that brought the club and the fans closer, helped with the domestic dominance of the team.

Seeing a hard-working team under Luis Enrique every weekend relying on a successful collective play style has been key to change the dimension of the club worldwide has Paris Saint-Germain is now two games away from a historical European triumph.

And even though the French champions were to lose the Champions League final against Inter Milan, the 2024/2025 season would still be remembered as a massive turning point in the club's history.
