PSG are going through a rough patch ahead of their matchup against Olympique de Marseille in a new edition of 'Le Classique.' Here are the mistakes they need to fix.
PSG endured a tough week in the Champions League. They drew against PSV on Tuesday night at home which will be seen as a far from ideal result.
To make matters worse the week does not get any easier as on Sunday they travel to Stade de Velodrome to play Marseille in Le Classique.
While this game does not decide their season or where the title will go it is imperative they get back to winning ways.
Here at PSG Post, we discuss what they need to improve ahead of the massive game on the weekend.
What mistakes PSG need to learn ahead of the Marseille game
PSG need to be more clinical
The French champions had 26 shots in the game eight of which were on target. Bradley Barcola, one of their top performers this season, could not convert his chance when through on goal, Lee Kang In's effort just outside the penalty box was palmed away by the PSV goalkeeper and Ousmane Dembele hit the post after connecting with Nuno Mendes cross in the six-yard box.
The Dutch side's goal came against the run of play as PSG were on top they just couldn't dispatch the opportunities that fell their way.
The French champions need to start an actual number nine
Luis Enrique opted not to start an actual number nine in Lee Kang In. This plan did not materialise as Kang In was wasteful on the night. Randal Kolo Muani may have feared better on the day as he is more clinical than Kang In.
Luis Enrique's side has to find ways of putting teams to bed otherwise they will have more nights like this. These sort of results could damage their chances of progressing to the next round.
