In 2012-13, for Zlatan Ibrahimovic's first 'Classique', Marseille hosted Paris whilst sitting at the top of Ligue 1 three points ahead of them before Matchday 8. The Swedish giant was already terrorising the league being on seven goals in seven games. This game will certainly stay on everyone's mind because of Zlatan's extraordinary backheel goal and his superb long-range free-kick to give PSG the lead in just two minutes. However, Andre-Pierre Gignac delivered an astonishing performance scoring a brace that night in an incandescent atmosphere at the Velodrome going head-to-head with Ibrahimovic.

2. OM 2-2 PSG 2017-18: Cavani silences the Stade Vélodrome

On Matchday 10, Marseille hosted Paris Saint-Germain at the Stade Vélodrome, a perfect opportunity for Neymar Jr and Kylian Mbappe to make their debut in the 'Classique'. OM started the game in great fashion with Luiz Gustavo giving the lead to his side on a thunderous strike from outside the box. However, big games are the perfect opportunity for great players to shine and Neymar put both teams level just before half-time. In an uneventful second half, Thauvin gave the lead to Marseille with 10 minutes left in the game. With a Velodrome on fire, hoping to see their team win their first 'Classique' in six years, Neymar is sent off for a second yellow card after an altercation with Lucas Ocampos. But Cavani had other plans, the Uruguay international, silenced the entire stadium with a superb free-kick seconds before the end of the game, in a moment that is now cemented in 'Le Classique' history.

3. OM 2-3 PSG 2014-15 : Gignac strikes again, but Paris prevail

Once again, Paris and Marseille faced each other in a top-of-table clash with both sides aiming for first place. In a very intense game, Andre-Pierre Gignac broke the deadlock at the 30th, to give Marseille the lead, proving that he loved to face Paris at the Velodrome. However, Blaise Matuidi quickly put both teams level with a wonderful strike on his right foot. But Gignac, once again, scored himself a brace, his fourth in 'Le Classique', as Marseille went into half-time with the lead. Paris came out strong after the break, quickly scoring two goals in just two minutes through Marquinhos (49') and Morel's own goal (51') to see PSG taking the lead for the first time in the game. Despite Gignac's brace, Marseille fell again at home against a strong PSG side as Paris went on their way to win their 6th Ligue 1 title.
