Two things caught our attention in PSG's narrow defeat to Atletico
By Edward Otto
PSG stumbled yet again in the Champions League against one of Europe's elite succumbing to a 1-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid last Wednesday night.
It was a carbon copy of the previous games in this campaign against the bigger sides as they were not ruthless in front of goal when the chances had fallen their way.
Les Parisens upcoming European games won't get any easier as they still have to face Bayern Munich (away), Man City (home) and Stuttgart (away).
If they don't win at least two of those games they run the risk of having to play two extra games next year. We will discuss what caught our attention in the gut wrenching defeat.
Randal Kolo Muani is vital to PSG
The French champions were wasteful in front of goal. They had 22 shots in the game nine of which were on target.
Luis Enrique's side were going full throttle from the get go. In just the second minute Achraf Hakimi shot narrowly went wide. Other chances in the game include Barcola's tame shot, Dembele's weak volley and Marquinhos header straight into Oblak's arms.
Randal Kolo Muani can't come back into the starting eleven soon enough as deploying a false nine hasn't worked so far this season.
Atletico Madrid's smash and grab
Atletico Madrid goals came against the run of play particularly the second goal as it came when PSG went all out for a winner which led them being exposed at the back.
Molina's equaliser came at a period where Les Parisens were missing countless opportunities. The game yesterday was a perfect a case of PSG's chances coming back to haunt them. Diego Simeone's side only had four shots , three of which were on target and two that resulted in goals.
