PSG vs Paris FC: Predicted lineup for Ligue 1 derby

Who will make it into the starting lineup as PSG prepare to host city rivals Paris in the first game of 2026?

After almost two weeks of break over the festive period, PSG are set to open the year with a Ligue 1 clash against 14th-placed city rival Paris FC. Just before the break, Luis Enrique and his side lifted the sixth trophy of the year following a dramatic penalty shootout win over Brazilian side Flamengo in the Intercontinental Cup final. Before defeating National 3 side Vendée Fontenay in the Coupe de France.

For this game that will take place just four days before the Trophée des Champions final against Marseille, the European Champions will have to do with several players, including Achraf Hakimi and Ibrahim Mbaye who are representing Morocco and Senegal respectively at the AFCON. Moreover, Matvey Safonov, Quentin Ndjantou and Kang-In Lee are all injured and will miss several weeks of competition.

Here is Les Parisiens' predicted starting XI against Paris FC.

PSG Predicted Lineup vs. Paris FC (4-3-3)

GK: Lucas Chevalier - With Safonov set to be side-lined for an extended period, Lucas Chevalier should be the one starting for PSG between the posts. The French international will hope to put in good performances to remain the clear first option in the eyes of Luis Enrique.

RB: Warren Zaire-Emery - The 19-year-old will be the one starting in the right-back position, a role he has been occupying since Hakimi's injury against Bayern Munich in the Champions League with a lot of success.

CB: Illia Zabarnyi - The Ukraine international should be the one partnering Willian Pacho in the heart of PSG's backline against Paris FC. Meanwhile, club captain Marquinhos is expected to be rested ahead of the Trophée des Champions final against Marseille.

CB: Willian Pacho - Though he could be rested and replaced by Lucas Beraldo, Willian Pacho is a key element of Luis Enrique and he will likely start this game against Paris FC before facing Marseille in Kuwait next week.

LB: Nuno Mendes - The Portuguese is a key element of this squad and will start against the city rivals PFC this weekend as the club look to draw closer to RC Lens at the table.

CDM: Vitinha The midfield maestro has started almost every PSG game this season and managed to avoid any significant injuries. His flair and talent will be needed as PSG look to start the year on a high note.

CM: Fabian Ruiz - The Spaniard should form Paris' usual midfield alongside Neves and Vitinha for this game against PFC, giving them a good preparation ahead of the clash against Marseille.

CM: Joao Neves - The former Benfica player has been fantastic this season and many fans will expect him to carry his remarkable run of form in the new year.

RW: Désiré Doué - While Bradley Barcola is a solid option to start, it should be the 2025 Golden Boy who gets the nod from Luis Enrique to start in the upcoming derby.

LW: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia - The Georgian has had a weird start this season, has he struggled to get a good rhythm this season, though, he is set to play against PFC.

ST: Ousmane Dembélé - The 2025 Ballon d'Or has received another individual award over the break after his incredible season. He will now need to avoid injuries to lead his side to many more trophies this season.
