Paris is hosting 14th-placed Le Havre at the Parc des Princes in their first game back after the international break. Luis Enrique and his side will need a win to get back at the top of the league following Marseille's dominant victory over Nice yesterday.
For this game, the Spaniard coach will be able to count on Nuno Mendes as the Portuguese left-back makes his return in the starting lineup following his injury sustained in the loss against Bayern Munich. Moreover, the team has been largely rotated ahead of the Champions League clash against Tottenham on Wednesday with Beraldo, Mbaye and Kang-In Lee all starting. Meanwhile, Barcola, Marquinhos, Kvaratskhelia, Pacho and Fabian Ruiz are all on the bench after featuring with their respective national teams over the break. Ultimately, Warren Zaire-Emery starts as right-back while Hakimi recovers from his injury.
Paris Saint-Germain's starting XI: Chevalier; Beraldo, Zabarnyi, Nuno Mendes, Warren Zaire-Emery; Vitinha, Joao Neves, Senny Mayulu; Mbaye, Ramos, Kang-In Lee.
Le Havre's starting XI: Diaw; Lloris, Sanganté, Nego, Zouaoui; Seko, Kechta, Ndiaye, Touré, Ebonog, Soumaré.
PSG vs Le Havre: Paris back at the top of Ligue 1
While Paris dominated on the ball throughout the first 15 minutes, both sides offered an entertaining game to the fans as Le Havre decided not to sit back in front of their box but to play high, looking to create chances to score early. Ibrahim Mbaye had the first big chance of the game, coming after Le Havre's defender gave away a cheap ball, but the Senegalese international put the ball just wide of the post. Moments later, Chevalier made an incredible goal line clearance to keep both sides level.
After 28 minutes, Kang-In Lee opened the scoring from a tight angle as he found himself on the receiving end of Nuno Mendes' cross. The Korean scored his second goal of the season and his first of the Ligue 1 campaign.
The end of the first half was completely controlled by Luis Enrique's men as they created numerous chances to scored, though, a lack of efficiency meant that they remained under threat from Le Havre's counterattacks.
The visitors came back from the break with the same mindset, looking to come back into the game and created opportunities to do so, however, Lucas Chevalier made some crucial saves to deny them. Just after the hour mark, Joao Neves doubled PSG' advantage and continued his wonderful run of form (65'). The Portuguese international pounced on save made by Diaw to score his sixth goal of the league campaign.
In the dying embers of the game, substitute Bradley Barcola made it 3-0 for the hosts as they claimed back the top spot of the league (87').
Up next, PSG will host Tottenham Hotspur at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 5 of the Champions League as they look to bounce back from their loss to Bayern Munich.
