PSG fall to Bayern Munich and lose Hakimi and Dembélé
Inside four minutes and on their first opportunity, Bayern Munich took the lead at the Parc des Princes through Luis Diaz. The Colombian perfectly followed on the rebound of Olise's effort which was initiall saved by Chevalier.
After 15 minutes, the hosts failed to create any significant chances against a very well-organised side who made it difficult for them and managed to be dangerous on the counter. Ousmane Dembélé thought to have brought both side level after 23 minutes but his goal was disallowed for offside. Shortly after, the Frenchman was subbed off, replaced by Kang-In Lee with an apparent injury.
Bradley Barcola had Paris' biggest opportunity of the first half but the France international lost his face to face against Neuer. On the counter, Gnabry saw his effort hit both posts, but the visitors kept knocking on the door and Luis Diaz made it 2-0 for Munich as Marquinhos gave the ball away in front of his box (32'). The end of the first half was completely dominated by the visitors who created numerous chances increase their advantage. In the dying moments of the first half, Luis Diaz was shown a straight red card after VAR check, following a nasty challenge on Achraf Hakimi who subsequently left the pitch injured.
Luis Diaz's red card change the dynamic of this game as Paris became more dominant while Bayern sat deep in front of their box inside the first 20 minutes of the second half. Even though, the German side did not concede any significant chances.
Substitute Joao Neves reduced the deficit with a splendid volley at the 74th minutes giving hopes of a comeback to his side in the last 15 minutes of the game. Shortly after, Neves came close to become the hero of the night but his header just went wide of Neuer's left post. Despite all their late efforts, Vincent Kompany's side were able to see out the game and claim their 16th straight win of the season at the Parc des Princes.
Up next, Paris will face Lyon at the Groupama Stadium on Matchday 12 of Ligue 1 McDonald's as they will look to bounce back from their first European loss of the season.
