Luis Enrique, PSG’s coach, discussed his team's preparation and strategy for the upcoming match against Stade Brestois.

Enrique emphasized that the team’s strength lies in its versatility, with players capable of performing well in various positions.

Enrique's take, versatility and Brest challenge

He expressed satisfaction with the squad's current state after the transfer window and is confident about achieving positive results this season. The coach said:

"We have tried to strengthen the squad during the transfer window, and I feel very calm. I have confidence and believe it will yield results, which is the goal"

Enrique also addressed media speculation about Bradley Barcola, noting that while there was initial skepticism about Barcola's readiness for high-profile matches like those in the Champions League, the player has demonstrated calm and resilience:

"The media always wants something black or white, a climax or a disaster, but that’s not real life. In life, there are many shades of gray. In that sense, we are very calm"

Enrique acknowledged that Barcola, despite experiencing ups and downs, has shown significant improvement and is now a strong asset to the team. He criticized the media for seeking dramatic narratives, stressing that real life and football involve many nuances and not just black-and-white scenarios.

Regarding the upcoming match, Enrique highlighted that PSG’s preparations are based on both Brest’s recent performances and their past encounters with the team:

"They have a Champions League level, having earned that right last year. It will be an excellent benchmark to prepare for upcoming competitions. It will be difficult tomorrow, that’s for sure. It will be a very contested match, as every game against Brest is"

He anticipates a challenging game, acknowledging Brest’s capability and their level of play, which earned them a spot in the Champions League last year. Enrique views the match as a crucial test and a valuable opportunity to gauge his team’s readiness for future competitions.
