Tensions growing between PSG locker and French forward
PSG is facing one of their most pivotal stretches of the 2022-23 season having already gotten eliminated (2-1) from the Coupe de France and currently down 0-1 in the Champions League last-16 round against Bayern Munich last Tuesday.
Christophe Galtier has led his team to three consecutive defeats in all competitions (in fact, one in each of the cup, league, and UCL) for the first time since 2011. On Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain (1st, 54 points) takes on fifth-place LOSC Lille (41 points) at the Parc des Princes in another crucial match that Galtier's squad must win if the coach wants to retain his job.
According to the French newspaper Le Parisien, tensions are growing in all fronts around the Parisian locker room.
Most PSG players don't like the attitude of the "pretentious" young French forward
In fact, Le Parisien is informing that one of Luis Campos' chosen targets last summer, young French star striker Hugo Ekitike, only has enemies among his PSG teammates because many players think he is "pretentious" and has "a big head."
The president of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has stayed silent through the tumultuous 2023 calendar year but his opinion on Campos' disastrous squad building is widely known among all people involved with the Paris-based organization.
In recent days, rumors have re-emerged about the interest of PSG and the Emir of Qatar in bringing Zinedine Zidane to the French capital as soon as next summer and ahead of next season. Other names of high-level managers such as Jose Mourinho and a returning Thomas Tuchel have also entered the picture.
Luis Campos' days at PSG are numbered and his bad planning and overall-job at Paris Saint-Germain might also bring Galtier down with him. Things are coming and they will be as big as they can get.
