Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe thanks PSG in social media post

Paris Saint-Germain closed a seven-year chapter last summer when Kylian Mbappe left the French capital club as the all-time top scorer to finally fulfil his childhood dream of wearing the Real Madrid shirt. As expected, the links between PSG and the Bondy native remain evident in one way or another.
Almost every year since his arrival in Paris from AS Monaco, Mbappe has been linked to Real Madrid. Summer after summer. In fact, it was a major surprise and media sensation when, in 2022, the Frenchman renewed his contract with PSG, even posing with a shirt bearing the number 2025, a year we have yet to reach. It was later clarified that his renewal was actually until 2024 with an option for an additional year.
Now, amidst legal disputes over alleged unpaid wages and bonuses by PSG, Kylian Mbappe has posted a photo on Instagram, holding the UEFA Champions League Golden Boot for 2023/24. In the post, he thanks PSG, mentioning his former teammates and the staff as well.

Kylian Mbappe may be a headache for Parisian fans behind the scenes, but publicly he has always shown respect towards Paris Saint-Germain. While he may have criticised certain methods or even some coaches or teammates, the Frenchman has managed his relationship with the club’s most passionate supporters well. Evidence of this is how the Ultras bid him farewell at his final match at Parc des Princes.
However, for many, being a club legend goes beyond numbers and also reflects the class and respect demonstrated through a player's actions. Suing your club might not be the best way to be regarded as a legend.
In any case, Kylian Mbappe's change of scenery seems to have been positive for all parties involved. While he lives out his childhood dream, PSG is enjoying a strong start to the season with 16 goals in 4 matches and 4 victories.
