PSG eyeing Arsenal, Chelsea target despite recent €160 million investment

The summer of 2023 for Paris Saint-Germain was characterised by the club's attempt to strengthen their attacking line significantly following the departures of both Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. Aiming to maintain their offensive prowess, PSG invested €160 million to bolster their attack.
Specifically, according to Transfermarkt, PSG paid €95 million to Eintracht Frankfurt for the acquisition of Randal Kolo Muani, and €65 million to Benfica for the transfer of Goncalo Ramos. Both forwards had their moments during their first season, although their impact was somewhat overshadowed by the emergence of Bradley Barcola and the established roles of Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.
Now, with Kylian Mbappe absent, Kolo Muani's start to the season has been quite promising. This is not the case for Goncalo Ramos, who is currently injured and will be sidelined for a few months. Nevertheless, despite having these two strikers, a report from CaughtOffside suggests that PSG are eyeing a current standout forward.

The cited source names Paris Saint-Germain, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham as the main contenders for the signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon. The report notes that PSG have an excellent relationship with the Portuguese club, but it is likely that they will need to sell either Ramos or Kolo Muani to facilitate the deal.
Amidst these rumours, journalist Graeme Bailey reported that Arsenal and Chelsea have stepped up their efforts and sent scouts to the recent match between Sporting and LOSC Lille to monitor Gyokeres's performance. The result? The Swedish forward scored and was named Man of the Match.
The start of the season for the Swedish forward has been quite promising, but is he a necessity for PSG, a mere luxury, or just a rumour? It is normal to keep an eye on top talents for potential opportunities, but for now, the Parisian outfit appears well-covered in attack, and such decisions will likely crystallise after the midpoint of the season.
