PSG will host Nantes on Saturday evening at Parc des Princes as part of the 26th matchday of the Ligue 1 season. The team from the French capital won't have five players available for different reasons, including the last-minute absence of Achraf Hakimi as he's been charged with rape.
Paris Saint-Germain footballer Hakimi has been charged with rape after a 24-year-old woman accused the PSG defender of raping her at his home in Paris on Saturday, Feb. 25. The Morocco international's lawyer Fanny Colin has previously insisted the allegation is "false".
Hakimi won't feature for PSG on Saturday, and he's expected back next week for the Champions League game at Bayern Munich if his case doesn't turn another ugly (uglier?) page.
Achraf Hakimi has been charged with rape and will miss the reception of Nantes
The defender will be joined on the sidelines by the suspended Marco Verratti (yellow card accumulation, explained here) along with three other players injured at this moment and still going through rehabilitation.
Presnel Kimpembe carries the most worrying injury, a season-ending (ruptured Achilles) one, and he should stay out of any football pitch and training ground until well into next season with his rehabilitation expected to take "between six and eight months," according to doctors.
Brazil international Neymar (ankle ligaments damaged) and Portugal international Renato Sanches are still recovering from their respective injuries and won't be available this weekend.
Neymar is making a push for appearing at least on an off-the-pine cameo at Bayern while Sanches is expected to return (on schedule) to collective training sessions next midweek, with little chance of making it to the pitch of the Allianz Arena next Wednesday.
Nordi Mukiele will be on PSG's matchday squad on Saturday to face Nantes but he trained by himself on Friday after suffering from calf discomfort, say club sources.
If Mukiele (expected to start if fit enough) can't play, then the right wing-back position will most probably be handed to titi Timothe Pembele as Hakimi won't be at the Parc des Princes tomorrow either.
