Chelsea eye January move for €100m PSG summer target, says report

Paris Saint-Germain was the subject of numerous rumours during the summer transfer window. Following Kylian Mbappe's departure, many reports suggested that the Parisians would seek to sign a superstar for their attack, mostly mentioning Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker from Napoli.
However, the striker did not join PSG, and while the club's management has stated they are satisfied with their attacking options, other sources argue that Napoli's refusal to lower their financial demands was the reason, even suggesting that the striker had already reached an agreement with the Parisian club.
Ultimately, Osimhen surprisingly signed for Turkey's Galatasaray on loan, with reports indicating that his contract includes a release clause that could facilitate a move to a top European team during the January transfer window.
In this context, it's worth noting recent information from Football Insider, which reports that Chelsea is considering making a move for Osimhen in January, taking advantage of the release clause in the striker's contract.

The report adds that Napoli would be happy to receive a significant transfer fee before letting him leave for free when his contract expires, so they are open to negotiations. Like PSG, Chelsea was one of the clubs heavily linked with Victor Osimhen last summer, making it logical that their interest remains.
For now, in September, it is wise to approach these reports with caution and wait until winter approaches to get a clearer idea of what might happen.
According to Transfermarkt, Victor Osimhen's market value remains at €100 million, although multiple reports suggested over the summer that Napoli was demanding €130 million for their player.
As for PSG, they now seem to have lost interest in the Nigerian, having scored 16 goals in just 4 matches at the start of the French league, with standout performances from players like Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembele, and Marco Asensio.
