AC Milan prepares contract extension for PSG, Real Madrid target
Paris Saint-Germain seems to never find stability in one specific position: goalkeeper. This season, with the contract of what many consider a club legend, Keylor Navas, finally expired, it appeared that the team’s two main goalkeepers would be Gianluigi Donnarumma and the recent Olympic champion with Spain, Arnau Tenas.
However, PSG surprised everyone by signing the 25-year-old Russian goalkeeper, Matvey Safonov, from FC Krasnodar for €20 million. In fact, on the eve of Paris Saint-Germain’s debut in the new UEFA Champions League edition, where they will host Girona this Wednesday, September 18, at the Parc des Princes, there is still debate over who should be the starting goalkeeper: Safonov or Tenas.
This is because Donnarumma is sidelined due to muscle issues in his right leg, as explained by the Parisian club. In a few days, we should get a clearer idea of who is seen as the number 2 goalkeeper in Luis Enrique’s eyes.
Meanwhile, despite all this, PSG continues to be linked with other goalkeepers. In this case, Le10Sport mentions the Parisian club as one of the interested parties in signing Mike Maignan, the AC Milan goalkeeper, who is also a product of PSG’s academy.

The same source also names Real Madrid as another team interested in the French goalkeeper, even suggesting that both Kylian Mbappé and Aurélien Tchouaméni are trying to persuade Maignan to join the Spanish capital.
Le10Sport adds that, in any case, this will be a very challenging task for both clubs, as AC Milan is working on renewing Maignan’s contract, and the goalkeeper is reportedly convinced to stay with the Rossoneri. Therefore, both PSG and Real Madrid would need to look elsewhere.
Given that PSG currently has three top-level goalkeepers, it seems quite difficult to believe or think that they are seriously considering a move for Mike Maignan. In fact, not long ago, Luis Campos, the Parisian club’s sporting advisor, confirmed talks to extend Gianluigi Donnarumma’s contract.
