PSG in talks to extend contract of Manchester City transfer target
Since joining PSG in the summer of 2021, Gianluigi Donnarumma has become a key player for the team and may soon extend his contract with the club.
Arriving on a free transfer from AC Milan in the summer of 2021, Gianluigi Donnarumma quickly established himself as a crucial part of PSG's squad. Over the years, the Italian goalkeeper has become an undisputed starter and enjoys the full confidence of the Parisian board.
Named the best player of Euro 2021, Donnarumma has become a significant presence in the team and is now one of the longest-serving players alongside Presnel Kimpembe, Marquinhos, and Achraf Hakimi. With his current contract running until June 2026, the 25-year-old goalkeeper is poised to extend his stay with the Rouge & Bleu.
Gianluigi Donnarumma set to extend his PSG contract
Following discussions about Victor Osimhen, PSG's sporting advisor, Luis Campos, briefly addressed the future of the Italian international during the Thinking Football Summit in Porto. Campos confirmed that negotiations are underway for a contract extension, stating, “We are working on renewing Donnarumma’s contract," as reported by SportItalia.
Campos was also asked about Lamine Yamal of FC Barcelona, who has been rumored to be on PSG’s radar according to Spanish outlet Sport. Luis Campos praised Lamine Yamal, highlighting his exceptional talent and performance.
"To say he is not a great player would be a huge mistake. He is an excellent footballer, and I am very happy to see him playing at such a high level"
Campos emphasized that dismissing Yamal's skill would be a significant error, underlining that Yamal is an excellent footballer.
He expressed his admiration for Yamal and also acknowledged other top players, including Dembele, Barcola, Kang In-Lee, Marco Asensio, and Goncalo Ramos, noting their fantastic quality and impact on the game, commented the PSG executive.
Gianluigi Donnarumma has been linked to multiple clubs since his arrival at PSG, with the most recent being Manchester City, according to Forbes. However, it seems the Italian will extend his Parisian adventure.
