The 2026 World Cup is nearly upon us and numerous PSG players are set to take part in the tournament. Some could have a massive impact on their respective national teams, possibly leading them to the World Cup title.

From these players, three have a big chance to possibly win the World Cu Golden Ball awarded to the best player of the tournament. Let's take a look at which PSG players could be in contention to win it.

Three PSG stars in contention to win the World Cup golden ball

1- Ousmane Dembélé

The 2025 Ballon d'Or is the obvious for choice for this list. After a very solid season that saw him win a second consecutive Champions League title with PSG while also being named 2026 Ligue 1 Player of the season. He will be expected to lift France to their third World Cup title alognside his PSG teammmates and former PSG star Kylian Mbappé.

Nonetheless, he has had tremendous and notorious trouble bringing the same impact he has at club level with his national team in the past racking up only seven goals in 59 games with France. He remains a key player for Didier Deschamps as he eyes his second World Cup title, which would give him a massive chance to win back-to-back Ballon d'Ors.

An honourable mention would be Désiré Doué who could be given a starting role with the team in this upcoming tournament as his stock could dramatically rise throughout the competition.

2- Vitinha

The second player of this list is Vitinha. The Portuguese midfielder is another key player of the PSG team that achieved back-to-back Champions League triumph. He is a genius and crafty player that can easily dictate the pace of any game as he proved with PSG. His importance with the Seleçao is at the same level with Portugal being one of the favourites of the competition. His upcoming combination with Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva and PSG teammates Joao Neves could deliver the best midfield of the tournament.

While Dembélé was given the award for his goal contributions throughout the season and with strikers being often preffered in those award conversations, the 27-year-old impact games at a whole different level and could be the one lifting the World Cup Golden Ball if Portugal were to win the competition.

3- Achraf Hakimi

The last one could be a stretch but Morocco had a wonderful and historic run in the last World Cup in Qatar. To see Hakimi named Golden Ball of the tournament, his team would need to at least reach the final of the competition.

The full-back is the captain and leader of this team that made a lot of progress since the last World Cup as they are one of the dark horses of this edition.
