3 main talking points as Paris Saint-Germain continue winless run after Monaco defeat

Paris Saint-Germain opened their entertaining month of September on a bad not as they suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of AS Monaco at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 3 of Ligue 1 McDonald's.

The Parisians have failed to secure a win in their first three games in the league, a worrying start ahead of the start of the Champions League campaign against Yaya Touré's Slovan Bratislava.

1- The club registered no wins in their opening three games in Ligue 1

After the first three games, Luis Enrique and his team have not managed to register a single victory (two draws, one loss), collecting just two points against Rennes and Lille, these two games saw the Parisians trail by two goals before making late comebacks to avoid defeat.

Since the arrival of QSI at the club back in 2011, it is just the second time that Paris failed to win any games in the opening three games of the league. In the first full season of the club under QSI management, they failed to win their first three games, but still ended up winning the league.

The Parisians have by far the best squad in the league and will likely still manage to win the league who is still long, but their performances on the pitch are quite worrying already.

2- The team conceded six goals in three games

The biggest concern for the Parisians and their fans is undoubtedly their defence as they have already conceded six goals in three games, Matvey Safonov has conceded two goals in each games not being help by his defenders who have too often failed to contain the oppositions from being dangerous.

The team has only been saved by their offensive talents up to this point. Last season, one of the biggest strengths of this team was not just their tremendous offensive power, but their ability to always control the tempo of a game through their midfield dominance, cutting from the source any hopes of counterattack from their opponents.

This disuasion now seems to have vanished, while it is still the beginning of the season, perhaps the form of the players returning from the World Cup still not up to their standards.

3- The Parisians' form is worrying already

With the Champions League campaign set to start next week, the Parisians do not appear ready for the highest level at the moment. Even though they are set to face Yaya Touré's team Slovan Bratislava, a side with no prior experience at this level, the Parisians should not be too complacent.
