Paris Saint-Germain 1-2 AS Monaco: Paris fall at the hands of Ligue 1 leaders Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain is hosting Ligue 1 leaders AS Monaco at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 3. Les Monégasques are the only team to have managed two wins in the first two games while Paris failed to secure a victory against both Stade Rennais and Lille and trailed by two goals on both occasions.

Therefore, the Parisians are on the hunt for their first win of the campaign. Luis Enrique kept a very solid team as he fielded one of his strongest XI. Maghnes Akliouche will start as a false number nine against his former team as Ousmane Dembélé makes his return on the bench after a week of rest. Furthermore, Warren Zaire-Emery will start at the left-back position with both Lucas Hernandez on the bench and Lucas Digne out of the group.

After just seven minutes, the first chance came from Désiré Doué from long range, the Frenchman saw his shot easily stopped by Hradecky. The Parisians came back knocking and created two successive big opportunities but saw Monaco's defence and Hradecky be decisive to keep the score at 0-0.

After 25 minutes, the Parisians appeared in full control of the game, leaving few chances to Monaco to push forward with the ball, though, Filipe Luis' side still managed to bring some danger while Paris held the ball. Finally the deadlock was broken by PSG captain Marquinhos after a good cross from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (31'). The Brazilian scored his second goal this season after the last-gasp equalising goal against Lille. The Georgian came close to add a second goal but saw Monaco's goalkeeper make a superb save.

After the break, the host kept pushing to increase their lead, but saw Monaco equalised as Nazinho's headed home a cross from Jordan Teze from close range. Les Monégasques have been much more positive in their approach and have been rewarded (58').

Idumbo gave the lead to Monaco thanks to a thunderous strike to beat Safonov at the near post (72'). The Parisians have already conceded six goals in the opening three games of the season as they are showing worrying defending.

Luis Enrique's men pushed forward to comeback into the game and avoid another disappointing result but Hradecky made several incredible saves to secure the win for Monaco as Paris register their first loss of the season.
