In their first game back following the international break, Luis Enrique and PSG will take on RC Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 8 of Ligue 1 McDonald's. For this game the European Champions should register numerous return to their squad after weeks of uncertainty due to injuries.

Before the break, Paris was held to a frustrating 1-1 draw on the road against Lille as they are now sitting at the top of the league, just one point ahead of Marseille, Lyon and Starsbourg, their next opponents.

Three main talking points ahead of Barcelona vs PSG

1. Will Désiré Doué make his return to the pitch

The Frenchman got injured whilst representing his country in the September international window and has since been missed by his club who found themselves in the middle of a massive injury crisis as Ousmane Dembélé and several others were sidelined as well.

However, after a month far from the pitch, the French international was able to recover from his injury and should therefore make his return soon. Though, he might be too soon to have him start against Strasbourg in an important game as Paris is set to host the third-placed side in Ligue 1.

2. A must-win game

Luis Enrique and his team only sit one point ahead of Marseille, Strasbourg and Lyon at the top of the league, and after falling at the Stade Vélodrome against Marseille in Le Classique, the European Champions must win this clash against Strasbourg to remain at the top of the league but also to distance a potential candidate to the Ligue 1 title.

Strasbourg has showcased tremendous progress since last season and is now a real contender to the league title with a young and well-balanced squad led by Liam Rosenior. They are now a real threat to Paris' domination over the league like Marseille.

Moreover, Les Phocéens could watch this upcoming clash with a lot of interest as a draw between PSG and Strasbourg could see them ascend to the top of the league. Therefore, Luis Enrique and his side must win this game to remain in control.

3. Warren Zaire-Emery must step up

The PSG Academy graduate rose to the first team and to stardom very early in his career as he also became one of the youngest ever to be called-up to the French national team. However, he lost his place in Luis Enrique's starting XI last season after an ankle injury. Since then, Paris became one of the most dominant side in Europe thanks to a midfield composed of Joao Neves, Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha, relegating him to a lesser role in the squad.

Additionally, his performances became inconsistent making it harder to regain his spot in the starting lineup. With the numerous injuries sustained by the club, including in midfield, the 19-year-old did not impress when he was given the chance.

In the upcoming weeks, the young French international could be playing his future at the club as he needs to prove that he could consistently produce high-level performances to potentially regain a spot in the starting XI of Luis Enrique.
