The French champions are coming off the back of a brilliant season. Les Parisiens retained the Champions League and the domestic league. They also became the second club to retain the Champions League after Real Madrid three-peated between 2017 and 2019.

The club's owners are not using the World Cup as an excuse to not do business, unlike clubs such as Manchester United, which haven't signed anyone. Luis Enrique knows that clubs around the continent will want to topple them as they are back-to-back European champions. Here at PSG Post, we discuss why the French champions are having a great transfer window thus far despite not signing anyone.

How PSG already made of the 2026-2027 transfer window a success?

They have sold deadwood

The club from Paris has sold players who are surplus to requirements, such as Gonçalo Ramos for 74 million euros to AC Milan and Lee Kang-in to Atletico for 35 million euros. This will open the door to signing players such as Maghnes Akliouche and Yan Diomande. Enrique is trying to strengthen a squad that has won back-to-back Champions Leagues. The club still wants to sell more players this window, such as Ibrahim Mbaye, who wants to leave due to uncertainty with playing time. The players who went on loan, such as Noham Kamara, have been sold.

Despite not signing anyone they have showed intent

PSG are yet to sign a player this window, but this will not concern them as they have agreed personal terms with Maghnes Akliouche (from Monaco) and Yan Diomande (from Leipzig). This should allow Bradley Barcola to move to Liverpool or Arsenal. The only issue with the potential signings of Diomande and Akliouche is that Désiré Doué's game time will be limited. Doué played a crucial role in PSG's route to the Champions League final. The 21-year-old scored five goals and registered four assists in 13 appearances. It remains to be seen whether Diomande would replicate what Doué did for the club.

They have begun loaning out players

The club has already loaned out goalkeeper Renato Marin to Nacional in Portugal and Gabriel Moscardo to Deportivo La Coruna. This is a good start, as the club needs to loan out more players such as Randal Kolo Muani who have been linked to a move to Juventus, and Yoram Zague. Enrique may want to use them in the preseason, as most of his squad will be arriving late due to the World Cup. When the French champions sign more players, those players will be surplus to requirements. The only issue is that they may struggle to find a club that will want to take a gamble on them.
