What time does Lens vs PSG kick off?

Lens vs Paris Saint-Germain kicks off at 8:45pm local time in France. This is 7:45pm in the UK and 2:45pm in the East Coast of the United States, thereby 11:45am on the West Coast.

Where is the Trophée des Champions being played?

Since 2009, the Trophée des Champions has been played all over the world. Last year's edition was staged in Kuwait, following on from such exotic locations as Doha, Tel Aviv, Shēnzhèn, Ṭangier, Klagenfurt, Montréal, Libreville, Tūnis, Běijing and Harrison, New Jersey.

This year though, Lens are hosting, with the fixture at les Sang et Or's home Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Northern France. This will be only the third time in 17 years that the fixture has been played in France, one of which was behind-closed-doors due to Covid-19. The other, the 2023 edition, was switched to Parc des Princes, originally supposed to be in Bangkok, only for the organisers to pull out.

Why are PSG playing Lens in the Trophée des Champions?

As in other European countries, the Super Cup is contested by the league winners and the cup holders. Paris Saint-Germain secured a fifth successive Ligue 1 title, which was their 12th triumph in 14 years of Qatari ownership. During this period, les Rouge-et-Bleu have also won the Coupe de France eight times, but not last year, ousted in the round of 32 by Paris FC.

Thus, it was RC Lens who triumphed at the Stade de France in May, beating Nice 3-1; Florian Thauvin, Odsonne Édouard and Abdallah Sima the scorers. This secured les Sang et Or's first major title since lifting the Coupe de la Ligue in 1999, but was no fluke. They finished second in Ligue 1 last season, with PSG winning at the Bollaert to secure the title on the penultimate matchday. After Pierre Sage departed for Crystal Palace, this will be Dino Toppmöller's first game in charge of Lens.

Despite only playing two pre-season friendlies beforehand, Luis Enrique went very strong for Wednesday night's UEFA Super Cup against Aston Villa in Salzburg. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia looked very sharp, scoring the opening goal, benefiting from a summer break, unlike most of his team mates.

World Cup stars Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos, Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, João Neves, scorer Désiré Doué and new signing Maghnes Akliouche all started in mid-week despite, in some cases, no pre-season minutes at all.

How many trophies can PSG win this season?

With the UEFA Super Cup in the bag, retaining the trophy in mid-week, that could be just the first of six heading PSG's way this season. As European champions, they will seek a second successive FIFA Intercontinental Cup in December, going straight through to the final against another continental champion. They are also overwhelming favourites to hoover up another Ligue 1 title and regain the Coupe de France, while front-runner for many to complete a Champions League three-peat.

Les Parisiens are set to feature in a 14th successive Trophée des Champions, most-recently not appearing in one in 2012. During this period, they have won 12 out of 13, including each of the last four, defeating fierce rivals Olympique de Marseille in Kuwait City back in January.

The only Trophée des Champions Paris Saint-Germain have lost since 2010 was the 2021 edition, beaten 1-0 by LOSC Lille in Israel under Mauricio Pochettino. Thus, PSG are favourites for victory once more but, away from home against Lens, this is unlikely to be straight-forward.
