With the winter break upon us, it is now time to come back and review the first half of the season and see which Paris Saint-Germain's players perfomed best so far.

Despite a span of difficult results in the Champions League with the club sitting 25th at the table, awaiting a must-win game against Manchester City. Paris is the uncontested leader of the Ligue 1 McDonald's table with an unbeaten record and 10 points clear of Monaco and Marseille, with the latter having a game in hands to play.

In those first five months of the 2024-25 season some players proved to be instrumental in Paris' success, so let's see which three players performed best so far.

PSG's top 3 players so far

1. Achraf Hakimi

Achraf Hakimi ranks at the top of our list. The Morocco international is certainly the best right back in the world today. His ability to create danger from the fullback position is second to none. He coupled his capacity to be a constant offensive threat with his defensive talent, which is improving season after season. He is without a doubt the best player for PSG so far this season. The Moroccan is definitely an instrumental piece in PSG's success whether it is present or in the future, his recent contract extention is proof of that. In terms of statistics, the 26-year-old is impressive too, across 14 Ligue 1 games, he scored two goals and delivered five assists, making him one of the top assists provider of the league. His best performance this season came as Paris thrashed Montpellier 6-0 at home, a game that saw Hakimi record a goal and an assists.

2. Willian Pacho

Willian Pacho is certainly the best signing the club has made in recent years, the Ecuador international featured in 20 out of the 22 games played by Les Parisiens, he is a towering presence in PSG's backline and his association with club captain Marquinhos already proved to be fruitful. There is no doubt that he is the best center back of the league this season. He has already proved himself to be irreplaceable for Luis Enrique who gave him his trust almost instantly and never did anything to prove him wrong. His best performance came in Paris Saint-Germain's 3-0 win over rival Marseille in "Le Classique".

3. Bradley Barcola

Bradley Barcola could have easily ranked at the top of this list. The 22-year-old winger is having the best season of his young career. Following Kylian Mbappé's departure to Real Madrid, many wondered who could possibly become PSG's new offensive leader. And very quickly, the question was answered as the former Lyon player showed that he has all the potential to do so for Les Parisiens with many goals scored in Ligue 1. Barcola scored 10 goals and delivered two assists in 15 league games, with only Jonathan David doing better. However, his lack of experience in Champions League proved to be detrimental in his performances, though, it is important to remember that he only played 81 club games in his 4-year career. If he manages to keep his run of form going for the rest of the season, Barcola will have everything to pretend for the best player of the season in Ligue 1 McDonald's. His best performance this season certainly came against Stade Rennais as he scored a brace in a 3-1 home victory in September.

Honourable mentions:

Even though these players couldn't make it in our top 3, they deserved a mention as they proved to be very good in the first part of the season for Paris.

Nuno Mendes

This season, the Portuguese has been very good for Paris, his ability to bring danger from the left side makes him one of the best in his position in Europe, and most importantly he managed to avoid injuries keeping him out of the squad for too long. Hopefully he will be able to stay healthy and contribute to the success of the club.

Joao Neves

The Portugal international has made a strong impression to start the season, as he delivered two assists in his debut game for the club. Which made him one of the top assists provider of the league, however, his impact hasn't only been statistically but with Paris' play style under Luis Enrique his abilty to keep the ball under pressure and deliver timely ball in transition from defense to offence is primordial.
