Luis Enrique side played their part in an enthralling league phase game on Wednesday night when they came away from Manchester with a 2-4 victory. PSG showed that they are the best team in the world when everything clicks, as when they had momentum, Enzo Maresca's side couldn't deal with them. The result is remarkable considering the Cityzens were not even bad on the night.

Man City even showed fight to put pressure on the European champions in the second half when they were 0-3 down. Here at PSG Post, we discuss the three things we learned from Les Parisiens' emphatic win at the Etihad.

Three key takeaways from PSG's thrilling win over City

PSG were immense in the first half

PSG were the better side in the first 45 minutes. In just the eighth minute, Warren Zaire-Emery's shot outside the box was comfortably gathered by Gianluigi Donnarumma. Moments later, Désiré Doué drilled a shot into the bottom corner from outside the box. Things went from bad to worse just minutes later when Ousmane Dembélé headed home Doué's cross at the back post. PSG's third goal of the interval came when Vitinha curled a shot outside the box beyond Donnarumma's reach. If Luis Enrique's side didn't get complacent in the second half, the score line would have been embarrassing for Man City.

Man City came to life in the second half

The Sky Blues showed a never-say-die attitude in the second half. Erling Haaland pulled one back in the 52nd minute when he headed home from IIiman Ndiaye's inch-perfect delivery. The French champion's then responded with a goal that came against the run of play and had a slice of fortune about it. Maghnes Akliouche took two touches before turning and trying his luck outside the box with a shot which looped back into the net after it appeared Donnarumma had saved it. If they had started the subs, it could have been a different encounter entirely. Despite the setback, City kept applying pressure. Enzo Fernandez hit the post in the 70th minute before Haaland scored with his weaker foot inside the box after combining well with Ayyoub Bouaddi.

Doué may give Enrique a selection headache

Doué was one of PSG's best players on the day. The Frenchman more than justified his goal and assist. Beyond his output, the Man City defenders struggled to contain the 21-year-old. If he can perform like this on a weekly basis, he could force his way into the starting XI ahead of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia or Ferran Torres if Enrique opts for a natural number 9.
