Ahead of PSG's Intercontinental Cup final against Brazilian side Flamengo, Ousmane Dembélé received another individual accolade after the 2025 Ballon d'Or three months ago. At the annual ceremony organised by FIFA at the Fairmont Katara Hall in Doha, Qatar, the 28-year-old was crowned 2025 FIFA- The Best after an amazing 2024-2025 campaign that have seen PSG win a historical treble.
Since winning the Ballon d'Or, the Frenchman had struggled with fitness as him and many of his teammates have been plagued by injuries.

The former FC Barcelona star netted 35 goals and delivered 16 assists in 53 appearances for PSG as he led his side to their greatest season ever. Moreover, he provided many magical moments and was once again rewarded as he edged out Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé and Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal to claim The Best FIFA Awards 2025.
After receiving his award, the Frenchman delivered a few words:
" I want to thank all my teammates, hard work pays off. It's been a fantastic year, both individually and collectively. I also want to thank my family, PSG, the club president, and the staff. Thanks to the FIFA president and all FIFA Members. It's a great honour. I hope to be back here next year."
After leading his team to a historical season, Luis Enrique had been named coach of the year at the FIFA -The Best Awards. Meanwhile, Gianluigi Donnarumma was named Best Goalkeeper after his fantastic season with PSG. The Italian shot-stopper who is now at Manchester City has played a key role as PSG dominated European football last season.

After all the individual awards, FIFA announced the names of the players who made it into The Best XI of last season. Following their dominant 2024-2025 campaign, five PSG players made their appearance in the best XI (six if counting Gianluigi Donnarumma who left for Manchester City). Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes, Vitinha, Achraf Hakimi and Ousmane Dembélé all feature in the team.
With PSG players taking over half of the spots in the team, it showcases their overwhelming dominance over European football last season, which was due to their great collective perfectly led and orchestrated by Luis Enrique and his staff.
