Let’s have a look at some of the rumours circulating after PSG’s Champions League win, their second successive success in the competition, with PSG rumoured to be both on the buying and selling ends of a number of prospective summer deals.

As Paris still revels in the celebrations of their historic back-to-back Champions League glory, let’s have a look at some of the transfers that the club may undertake this summer. Rumours have been swirling around involving a number of players, both in terms of potential departures and some new arrivals.

Perhaps the most persistent recent rumours involving PSG are those tying them to a potential acquisition of RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomandé. The Ivorian winger, who starred in ‘Les Éléphants’ friendly victory over France last night, has spoken of his admiration for PSG as a club in the last few days, and could be another attacking option for PSG fans to feast their eyes upon.

Liverpool have also been linked to Diomandé, with the two clubs now believed to be in direct competition for securing the winger’s services. Diomandé impressed for Leipzig last season, managing 12 goals and eight assists in 33 Bundesliga games, an excellent performance for a 19-year-old playing his first consistent season of senior football.

Another offensive player constantly linked with PSG over the last few months has been Julian Alvarez. The Argentine striker has had another good season at Atletico Madrid, but Diego Simeone’s men went trophyless once again, leading to frustration amongst the side’s key players. Alvarez is Atletico’s best player and has constantly been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital, with Arsenal, Barcelona and PSG consistently told to be interested in the attacker.

Alvarez, who is now set to link up with Lionel Messi in the Argentina attack at the World Cup, has had a good season for Atletico, notching 18 goals and nine assists across League and Champions League for his side. The only issue that could prevent Alvarez from joining PSG is the competitive nature of PSG’s attack in which Alvarez would not be guaranteed starting minutes.

As well as attacking signings, there are also murmurs of departures amongst the PSG squad: Gonçalo Ramos, Kang-in Lee and Lucas Chevalier have all been linked with exits, as well as Bradley Barcola – who still is far from being a guaranteed starter in Enrique’s system and who has attracted interest from Premier League clubs including Liverpool.

None of this news will come as a particular surprise to PSG fans, as Ramos and Lee’s exits have been long awaited given their lack of game time (although both will go down as decent signings given sporadically impressive league performances on behalf of both over their tenures at PSG) while Chevalier’s transfer has been an underwhelming affair all around, given that the French goalkeeper, signed to be number one, was rapidly dropped in favour of Matvey Safonov.

Barcola is perhaps the most delicate case, with the Frenchman once again failing to establish a consistent starting place, and attracting interest from elsewhere. PSG fans would be disappointed to lose Barcola, who is doubtless a player with extremely high potential, but if his exit meant that players of Alvarez’s calibre would join, it could be a deal worth considering.
