PSG fall at the hands of Sporting Lisbon
Paris took control of the game early and managed to create several opportunities to open the scoring. On the other end, Sporting who were clearly on the back foot still managed to create chances through fastbreaks.
After numerous occasions, Warren Zaire-Emery thought to have finally broke the deadlock for PSG. However, the goal was disallowed after a VAR check as Senny Mayulu committed a foul in the build-up (30'). Despite PSG's complete domination on the proceedings, the hosts managed to hold on and went into the break with a precious draw.
Once again, the visitors saw one of their goals disallowed after a VAR check for offside, preventing Ousmane Dembélé to continue his impressive goalscoring form since the beginning of the year. Completely against the run of play, Luis Suarez, former Marseille player opened the scoring for the hosts perfectly following up a rebound after a corner (74'). Shortly after, substitute Kvaratskhelia scored a wonderful goal to bring his side back into the contest with 10 minutes left to try winning this game (79').
In the dying embers, Luis Suarez got himself a brace to give the lead to his side once again with Sporting likely securing all three points (90').
Up next, Paris will travel to face Auxerre on Matchday 19 of Ligue 1 McDonald's on Friday evening. They will have the opportunity to go back at the top of the table.
