Reims hold Paris Saint-Germain to 1-1 draw in Kvaratskhelia debut

Paris Saint-Germain was held to a 1-1 draw against Stade de Reims at the Parc des Princes as Paris' latest signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made his debut for the club. Ousmane Dembélé opened the score for Paris and Nakamura equalised for his side less than 10 minutes later.

Just three days after offering us an incredible comeback victory 4-2 over Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in Champions League, Paris is hosting Stade de Reims for Matchday 19 of the Ligue 1 McDonald's. With Khvicha Kvaratskhelia set to debut for the club, the French Champions will hope to keep their unbeaten run in the league going.

Following their mid-week game, Luis Enrique operated many changes to his starting lineup and granted his first to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as a PSG player since his move from Napoli last week. Gonçalo Ramos and Dembélé completed the front line for Paris.

The first 15 minutes of the game saw Paris take control of the ball but failling to bring much danger on Diouf's goal against a well-organised Reims side. The only threat posed by the French champions came from, their main man, Ousmane Dembélé but his long range effort was saved by Reims' goalkeeper. Enjoying a massive mistake from Reims' defender in his own box, Gonçalo Ramos found himself in 1-v-1 against Diouf but his golden opportunity to open the score was denied by the keeper with an incredible save (26').

Just moments later, Ramos was once again denied by Diouf who pulled off a brilliant save to keep both teams level (31'). Both teams went into the half-time break level, Reims' keeper made many saves to prevent his side to trail in the first half.

Inside two minutes of the second half, Kvaratskhelia perfectly set up Dembélé for the opener as his shot was deflected by a Reims defender, the Frenchman just scored his eighth goal in his last seven outings (47'). Despite Paris' domination on the game, Reims equalised through Nakamura with the goal coming following an excellent counterattack started from their keeper (56').

With the game nearing its end, both teams remained in a deadlock aiming to land a decisive blow to their opponents. In the dying minutes of the game, Paris created various chances to take the lead but failed to convert their chances against a solid Reims side.

Up next, Paris will travel to Germany to face Stuttgart on Wednesday in their last Champions League league phase game.
