PSG are gearing up for a relatively tough encounter when they host Monaco on Friday night. This fixture was moved forward a day to give Luis Enrique's side extra rest ahead of the Champions League clash against Chelsea next week. The French champions should not take their opponents for granted, as they were close to knocking them out of the Champions League when they played in February.
PSG narrowly won the first leg 3-2 at the Stade Louis II before drawing 2-2 at the Parc des Princes. When they last met in the league in November 2025, Sebastien Pocognoli's side ran out 1-0 winners courtesy of a Takumi Minamino strike. Monaco knows that they can go toe to toe with PSG if they don't play in first gear.
Both sides have something to play for in the league. Monaco is currently six points behind Marseille in the race for Champions League football, while PSG is four points ahead of second-place Lens in the title race. Lens is the shock of the Ligue 1 season thus far, as nobody would have expected them to be in a title race with 10 games left of the domestic campaign. Both sides are in good form. PSG have won four of their last five games, as has Monaco.
