Randal Kolo is set for a loan move to Italy after Juventus and PSG agreed on a deal last night. According to Fabrizio Romano, the deal is a short loan, until June and there is no buy option clause, which means that the player will make his way back to Paris at the end of the season. Furthermore, the Italian Giants will cover 100% of Kolo Muani's salary during the loan. The 26-year-old should travel to Turin in the next few days to complete his medical tests and to sign his loan contract.
The France international only took part in 14 games for PSG and scored two goals this season and struggled to feature regularly despite Gonçalo Ramos' lengthy ankle injury that sidelined him for around three months. He was then given the permission to look for a way out of the club in January.
The former FC Nantes player had a difficult 18-month spell at the club, following his move from Eintracht Frankfurt where he blossomed. He scored 26 goals and provided 17 assists in 50 games and proved himself as one of the top forward of the Bundesliga, earning a €90 million move to Paris Saint-Germain. However, the France international failed to reproduce his Frankfurt form with PSG and quickly lost his place in the offensive line rotation of the former Barcelona coach.
The player who fell out of favor with Luis Enrique was highly coveted by Manchester United and Tottenham, but opted for Thiago Motta's side as his perpective of game time could be better. Despite having an unbeaten run in the league this season, Juve is struggling with only seven wins out of 20 league games. Moreover, the future of Dusan Vlahovic is uncertain at the club as talks about his contract renewal are at a standpoint with the club. Kolo Muani's arrival at the club will be important as he could be a real alternative to the former Fiorentina player, in case the negotiations for his new contract fail.
This deal is perfect for every party involved as Paris will not have to pay for Kolo Muani's salary and the player will be able to earn more minutes and regain some confidence as he is looking to keep his spot with the French national team and Juve will have a solid alternative to Vlahovic. Moreover, it will give more time to Paris to find a permanent solution for the Frencman's future, whether it is at Juventus or elsewhere.
