Paris FC knocked PSG out of the Coupe de France
After 20 minutes, the hosts were in complete control of proceedings but failed to create any significant chances in the period while Paris FC managed to be dangerous thanks to fastbreaks. Ramos had the biggest opportunity for Les Rouges et Bleus but his effort was saved by Nkambadio as he was off his line. The pressure intensified as Barcola's long range attempt ended just wide of the post.
Just before halftime, Kvaratskhelia had a big chance to open the score but was once again denied by Nkambadio who remained solid on his line so far. Both sides went into the break with Paris in control but unable to create big chances to open the scoring while the visitors were dangerous on fastbreaks.
PSG had several huge opportunities in quick succession but Paris FC's defence held on by a thread to keep both sides level with Nkambadio being decisive again. Shortly after his entrance, Nuno Mendes delivered a remarkable ball towards Barcola, sending him against the keeper but the Frenchman put his effort wide of the post.
On their biggest chance of the game and against the run of play, former PSG player Jonathan Ikoné opened the scoring (74'). The final minutes of the game were outrageously dominated by the hosts who pushed to equalised while creating numerous opportunities. Unfortunately, the visitors managed to hold onto their lead to qualify for the next round.
Up next, Paris will have a tough match as they host Lille at the Parc des Princes on Matchday 18 of Ligue 1 McDonalds. Then, they will travel to Portugal to face Sporting Lisbon on Matchday 7 of the Champions League League phase, looking to secure a top 8 spot with a win.
