AS Monaco midfielder and France international Youssouf Fofana attended the TV show Quelle Epoque on French television channel France 2 and dropped some interesting thoughts about a possible return to Paris, and his goals in football terms.

The French international, speaking on the show, said that a return to the capital would be "a dream" although doing so is definitely not "his grail" in terms of football accomplishments.

Speaking on France 2's show Quelle Epoque on Saturday Youssouf Fofana was asked about the possible return to his hometown Paris at some point. He was asked whether that would be akin to achieving a dream for him.

Youssouf Fofana: "My grail is winning titles, not playing for PSG"

“I come from Paris, it would be normal to return to my quotes-on-quotes home,” said the Monaco midfielder.

The 24-year-old was part of the France international squad that played in Qatar through their run to their second consecutive World Cup final, which they eventually lost to Argentina.

More interestingly, though, Fofana said that returning to Paris--by playing at Paris Saint-Germain--is in "no way" a must for him, making it clear that it would only be his dream "because Paris is my home."

"We are in world football, and I'd take the best proposal," added Fofana. "The prospect of going to play at the Parc des Princes would not be my no. 1 goal," he said, before adding that for him, "the grail is winning competitions whether I am in France, Germany, Italy."

Fofana stated that "as long as I win the competition I play at, it's good." Even though he spent time playing amateur football in Paris, Fofana didn't really break out in his native city first entering the scene while in Alsace playing for Strasbourg and winning the League Cup with the club in 2019.
