Why PSG should keep Xavi Simons next season
By Edward Otto
This is a massive summer window for PSG for several reasons. One reason is because it is a shortened summer window because of the Euros and another rationale is that they will need to replace Kylian Mbappe.
Here at PSG Post we discuss why Xavi Simons should stay as a result of Mbappe's departure.
Xavi Simons has produced during his loan spells
Simons has performed well on loan for both Leipzig and PSV. So far this campaign he has scored seven goals and registered 13 assists in 31 games for Leipzig. In the 22/23 season, he scored 19 goals and got nine assists in 34 Eredivisie games for PSV.
These stats show he has developed so much as a player in the last two years. If PSG decide to retain him they will have a good player on their books next season. They will need to bolster their attacking options with the departure of Kylian Mbappe.

He is versatile
Simons can feature out wide, as a center forward, or as a playmaker. This is crucial because it will be difficult for him to get game time out wide with Luis Enrique likely to start Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola.
The Dutch international will have every opportunity to play as the playmaker as Les Parisens are not stacked in that position. His versatility is very important as he left PSG on loan to get game time. The French champions will save money if they trust him instead of buying a Kylian Mbappe replacement.
