On loan this season at Leipzig from PSG, Xavi Simons reportedly has a clause in his Parisian contract allowing him to choose his future club in case of another loan next season. And according to the Catalan press, the Dutchman wants to be loaned to Barca.

PSG is gearing up for a lively summer transfer window with several positions to strengthen and a key player to replace: Kylian Mbappe.

Many Parisian supporters would like to see Xavi Simons return, who is having a very promising loan spell at Leipzig, with 9 goals and 15 assists in 42 matches played.

But while the Dutchman is contractually tied to PSG until 2027, his return to the club is not yet guaranteed, and rumors of a new departure, to Leipzig or Barca, have been growing in recent weeks, with the impression that everything is not very clear in his contractual relationship with the Parisian club.

This Wednesday, the Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo features Xavi Simons on its cover and makes a big revelation: the former La Masia graduate reportedly has a clause in his Parisian contract allowing him to choose his destination in case of a new loan.

Essentially, if PSG and Xavi Simons agree on the idea of a new loan, the player would have the freedom to choose between Leipzig, Barca, or another club.

And according to Mundo Deportivo, Xavi Simons wants to return to Barca, as other Spanish media outlets had reported at the end of April.

Meanwhile, Barca is also interested in the player they once trained and would view a loan favorably given their current economic difficulties. It remains to be seen whether PSG will decide to let their player go out on loan again or if they will want to rely on him as early as next season.

Mundo Deportivo confirms that a meeting is soon scheduled between the player's agent and the Parisian management to assess the situation.

The pro-Barca newspaper also adds another piece of information: Xavi Simons' entourage believes that a transfer this summer is unlikely because PSG is asking for at least 100 million euros to let him go permanently. So, the idea would be either to keep him or to loan him out.
