Why next season is one of the most important in PSG's history
By Edward Otto
The new season is around the corner with players returning from the Euros and Copa America. Some players have already returned while others will be returning later as their country went deeper into the tournament. Here at PSG Post, we discuss why the French champions have to do well this season.
A poor season makes them a less attractive proposition
If Luis Enrique's side doesn't have a good season they could risk losing more star players. They have lost Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Kylian Mbappe in recent years and more could follow if the French champions don't give them a valid reason to stay.
Whether they have a good campaign or not hinges on who else they sign in the transfer window specifically the Mbappe replacement. If the French champions don't find a replacement for last season's talisman then they should invest in other areas of the squad. The attackers will also need to step up to fill the void left by Mbappe as someone will need to fill his goalscoring boots.

Qatar owners may sell if they don't do well
If PSG have an underwhelming season then the owners will feel that their investment in the club has gone to waste. This could tempt them to sell the club especially if they become a less attractive proposition with players leaving.
As unlikely as it is to happen given how far the owners have come with this project it should not be ruled out especially if they want a new challenge. Nassar Al Khelaifi has come close to winning the Champions League with the French capital club on a couple of occasions which makes the recent departure of Mbappe even more devastating.
