Paris Saint-Germain has officially announced the signing of Joao Neves from Benfica. The Portuguese midfielder becomes PSG’s second summer recruit, following Matvey Safonov. Neves has committed to a five-year contract with the club, keeping him in Paris until 2029.
After weeks of intense negotiations with Benfica, PSG successfully secured the transfer of Joao Neves. The 19-year-old midfielder will don the number 87 jersey. PSG reduced the initial asking price from €120 million to €70 million, including bonuses.

Following a successful medical examination, Neves signed a contract that binds him to the Rouge & Bleu until June 2029, earning an annual salary of €5 million, comparable to Fabian Ruiz and Manuel Ugarte.
Known for his combative, technical, and offensive style, Neves was a key player for Benfica last season and is expected to bring his talent and flair to the Parc des Princes. As a priority for Luis Enrique, it will be interesting to see how the Spanish coach integrates this new gem into the squad.
