The struggles continue for Presnel Kimpembe. After suffering an Achilles tendon rupture against Marseille in February 2023, the PSG player underwent surgery shortly after. As he slowly resumed training, he experienced discomfort in his Achilles tendon.

In January 2024, he decided to undergo another operation. By the end of the 2023-2024 season, he had partially returned to training. While his teammates were on vacation, at the Euro, or the Copa America, the 28-year-old central defender trained daily at the Campus de Poissy to be ready for the return on July 15.

PSG's Kimpembe faces fresh injury blow before season start

Kimpembe had succeeded in his goal, participating in collective training sessions for several weeks. Unfortunately, physical issues have not completely disappeared. According to Fabrice Hawkins, Presnel Kimpembe sustained another injury during training in recent days.

The RMC Sport journalist reports that the French international is not expected to undergo another operation, but the nature and location of his injury have not been disclosed. One thing is certain: he will not be available for the friendly matches against Sturm Graz on August 7 and RB Leipzig on August 10, and he is also expected to miss the first Ligue 1 match against Le Havre on August 16.

Despite this, PSG does not want to show concern over this new injury. The club aims to manage his recovery gradually so he can finally return to the field and competitive play, concludes Fabrice Hawkins.
