Paris Saint-Germain, although already one of the biggest and most popular teams in France, took on a new dimension with the arrival of Qatar Sports Investments in 2011, who are now the club's major shareholders.

Since then, we have witnessed the French giants signing major football stars ranging from Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Lionel Messi, along with other big names such as Neymar Jr, Angel Di Maria, Edinson Cavani, and Kylian Mbappe.

Today, PSG enjoys a level of financial and sporting stability that it lacked in previous years, with fewer star egos in the squad. The Parisians now have a much more balanced and well-constructed team, where there is no single clear star, but rather a collective effort from all players.

In this context, it seems fitting to review the 5 highest-paid players at PSG. Let's take a look.

Who is the highest paid player at PSG?

1. Ousmane Dembele (€11 million per year)

Following Kylian Mbappe’s departure to Real Madrid, Ousmane Dembele has become the highest-paid player at Paris Saint-Germain, earning €211,538 per week, which totals €11 million net per season.

Dembele can also earn an additional €2.75 million net annually in bonuses. The versatile French forward joined PSG in the summer of 2023, and his contract runs until 30 June 2028. Currently, 'The Mosquito' is one of the key players for the club’s manager, Luis Enrique.

2. Lucas Hernandez (€10.45 million per year)

We enter somewhat controversial territory here, as Lucas Hernandez holds the second spot on this list, earning €200,962 per week, amounting to €10.45 million net per season.

So, why is this controversial? Unfortunately for Hernandez, the French defender has been injured for several months and is not expected to return to action until 2025. The Frenchman does not receive any bonuses as part of his salary, and his contract with PSG runs until June 2028.

3. Marquinhos (€9.24 million per year)

The captain and longest-serving player in the current Paris Saint-Germain squad earns around €177,692 per week, totalling €9.24 million net per season.

The Brazilian joined PSG in 2013, but his most recent contract, which started in May 2023, runs until June 30, 2028, similar to the contracts of Lucas Hernandez and Ousmane Dembele.

4. Milan Skriniar (€9 million per year)

The Slovak defender joined PSG in the summer of 2023, and there were numerous rumours over the summer suggesting he might leave the club, as he reportedly no longer fit into Luis Enrique's plans. Nevertheless, Milan is the fourth highest-paid player at PSG, earning €173,077 per week, which amounts to €9 million net per season.

Skriniar’s contract, like those of the previously mentioned players, extends until June 30, 2028.

5. Achraf Hakimi (€8 million per year)

Recently appointed vice-captain of the team, Achraf Hakimi is a notable inclusion on this list, given his key role in Luis Enrique’s PSG squad. The Moroccan earns €153,846 per week, amounting to €8 million net per season.

Currently, Hakimi does not have performance bonuses, but I would not be surprised if PSG offers him a substantial contract renewal soon, as he is still on the same deal he signed when he arrived in 2021, which runs until June 2026.

It’s notable that some of the newer yet already significant PSG players, such as Vitinha, who is considered by many to be the best player at Paris Saint-Germain, are missing from this list. Others like Randal Kolo Muani, Nuno Mendes, or Gianluigi Donnarumma might have been expected to feature, but their absence highlights the shift in PSG’s policy.

PSG ranks among Europe's top 10 most valuable clubs. dark. Next. PSG ranks among Europe's top 10 most valuable clubs

Previously, the norm was to offer exorbitant salaries to attract players from top leagues to France, which, while being among the top five European leagues, is undeniably ranked fifth. However, under the leadership of Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Luis Campos, and Luis Enrique, PSG’s management of transfers and finances has been notably effective. Who will be the highest-paid player at Paris Saint-Germain in five years? My prediction is Bradley Barcola.
