Midfielders: Marco Verratti, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz

The best news for Paris Saint-Germain ahead of their matchup with Bayern for a ticket to the quarterfinals of the Champions League resides in the midfield: Marco Verratti is returning after completing his one-game suspension in the Ligue 1 to strengthen a vital part of the PSG engine.

Of course, Danilo is off the chart here as he'll be part of the defensive unit in Galtier's formation. That rules him out of the available options and, along with Verratti's presence in the DM position, leaves four natural players to occupy the other two available positions: Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, Renato Sanches, and Warren Zaire-Emery.

Starting at the beginning, Renato Sanches won't probably appear in today's game, let alone start the match on the XI even if he might be an optimal option. He is coming back from a long-time injury (the nth this season for him) so it'd be unreasonable to risk him suffering a setback or getting injured once more with the season on the line.

Of the other three, it's expected that veteran Fabian Ruiz takes on a more advanced position while getting flanked and covered a bit by Vitinha, further down the field and dropping deeper. This setup has worked for Galtier so he won't be tinkering in such a crucial game against a giant like Bayern. Even more, Ruiz and Vitinha have enjoyed great runs of form while growing more and more accustomed to PSG of late, so there is no reason for large changes in this part of the pitch.

WZE stays on the bench with Sanches for a potential late cameo if PSG needs to bring all of their firepower in the final minutes of the game or in extra time if the meeting reaches those lengths.
