Defenders: Nuno Mendes, Kimpembe, Marquinhos, Sergio Ramos, Achraf Hakimi

I'm writing this on Saturday morning after yesterday's open training session at the Parc des Princes. I had penciled a prior predicted starting XI featuring Juan Bernat and Nordi Mukiele as the two wing-backs for Sunday.

Things seemed to change (for the better) less than 24 hours ago with both Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi seemingly available and fit enough to start. That is only a flip of names, though, as everything points out to Galtier strengthening the defensive line with three center-backs aligned behind two wing-backs instead of using a flat four-man defense.

In this case, the defensive trio would consist of Presnel Kimpembe to the left, Marqinhos in the middle of the line and getting a bit into the CB/DM hybrid role without Danilo on the pitch, and (Spain international retiree) Sergio Ramos to the right of the line.

Kimpembe, Nuno Mendes, and Hakimi, though, have suffered different problems through the weeks so the final decision is still very much up in the air.
