The 2022/23 season is now over for both Paris Saint-Germain teams, and the focus now turns to the transfer window as both sides hope of improving their squads for next season.

According to Le Parisien, English Super League winners Chelsea, and PSG's biggest rival, Lyon, are attempting a big move for Paris's star player, Diani.

Diani's contract will end in the next few weeks, and so far, there hasn't been any news of an extension, unlike Amanda Ilestedt and Li Mengwen.

But despite the silence on her future, the outcome of PSG not offering the 24-year-old a new deal looks highly unlikely and, let's be honest, a terrible decision from the club.

Diani has had a stellar season, claiming five individual awards for her efforts, ending the season as the D1 Arkema top scorer while also providing the third-most assists in the league this season.

Paris had a bit of a 50/50 season; they managed to get out of their Champions League group stage while being in a group with Chelsea and Real Madrid but ultimately they were unable to make it past the quarter-finals falling to eventual runner-ups Wolfsburg.

PSG reached the final of the Coupe De France but lost to Lyon 2-1. And they were also in contention for the D1 Arkema crown, but a goalless draw with Paris FC and then a defeat against Lyon in the final minutes of their game ended their hopes of winning the title.

It's very safe to say that if Diani had not been involved in those games, PSG probably wouldn't have had the privilege of being in contention for trophies until the very end of the season.

Chelsea are attempting to win their first-ever UEFA Champions League title next season, as they fell short to eventual winners Barcelona this time around in the semi-finals. They have already dominated in England, as they've won every trophy available to them of late.

They've already signed on PSG's right-back, Ashley Lawrence. The club or player has announced nothing yet, but the deal is considered to be done.

As for Lyon, they're one of the world's most successful women's football teams and have no intention of slowing that down.

PSG and Lyon have a history of stealing players from each other, such as Sakina Karchoui, an OL player who then signed for PSG, and Sara Dabritz, a Paris player who joined Lyon last year.

So Diani heading over to a new club might not be impossible, but the French player does seem to have a good connection with PSG and wants to add as many trophies as possible for them.

She recently mentioned the desire to win the Champions League at PSG, as it would be the first time the club would triumph, just like the men's team, who are also still searching for their first UCL.

We will find out Diani's future in the next few months if their journey with PSG continues or if the desire from these clubs will convince her to start something new.

For sure, supporters of the club will not want to lose their much-loved striker.
