PSG has secured the arrival of Joao Neves in midfield, and the signing of Desire Doue now seems well on its way. However, the club also took a shot at pursuing the more experienced Joshua Kimmich.

PSG’s management and coach Luis Enrique appear to have identified the midfield as an area needing reinforcement during this summer transfer window. In this context, Joao Neves was made an absolute priority to take on the role of defensive midfielder, and Desire Doue’s arrival in Paris is now looking likely.

However, while both 19-year-olds bring plenty of talent, they won't provide the experience needed in a group, particularly in the midfield, which is typically the most crucial area during major events. This is why the name Joshua Kimmich, a target from last winter for PSG, has resurfaced in recent weeks.

However, the transfer quickly hit a snag, and barring any unexpected changes, it is unlikely to happen. Nonetheless, according to insider Fabrice Hawkins, the 29-year-old German international had indeed considered a move to Paris Saint-Germain. RMC Sport journalist responded to a statement from Bayern Munich’s sporting director Max Eberl to BILD, in which Eberl assured: "For us, it was clear that Kimmich would eventually return to play in midfield this season. That decision was made a long time ago."

Hawkins commented on the social media platform X, saying, "It became even clearer when he started considering a move to Paris." Such a transfer would have greatly benefited PSG in several ways.
