As the transfer of Joao Neves to PSG is close to being finalized, a second transaction between the capital club and Benfica is also set to be completed. Renato Sanches will return to his formative club on loan.

Is PSG's transfer window finally heating up? After weeks of anticipation, the transfer of Joao Neves to the Red & Blue is nearing official confirmation. The two clubs have agreed on a transfer worth 70 million euros, including bonuses.

The 19-year-old midfielder is set to travel to Paris on Friday to undergo his medical examination and sign his five-year contract, binding him to PSG until June 2029. Returning from an unsuccessful loan spell at AS Roma, Renato Sanches will make the journey in the opposite direction to rejoin his formative club.

While it was initially thought that Sanches' move would be part of the Joao Neves deal, it will be an independent operation, according to Le Parisien.

The Parisian daily reports that Renato Sanches will join Benfica on loan. "While Benfica was among the contenders for him last season, his arrival has been facilitated this year by the imminent conclusion of Joao Neves' transfer, which should be completed in the coming days in Paris." Le Parisien explains that to lower the price of Joao Neves, PSG offered to loan Renato Sanches under very favorable conditions, particularly in terms of salary coverage.

The Parisian daily notes that PSG informed Sanches that he was not part of their plans upon his return to the Campus of Poissy on July 15.
