After extending his contract with PSG in May 2022, speculation about the future of Kylian Mbappe has not ceased to be in the spotlight. After new and insistent rumors linking the player to Real Madrid, the Parisian board would already be working on handing him an extension and won't entertain selling him this summer.

A little over a year ago, Paris Saint-Germain officially announced the renewal of Kylian Mbappe's contract, to the surprise of many. The Bondy native thus rejected a Real Madrid team that had dreamed of signing him since the summer of 2017.

At the time, Mbappe justified his decision in a statement published on social networks, where in addition to ensuring that he could grow up in Paris, he pointed out that he prefers "to live his dreams, instead of dreaming his life."

After an avalanche of rumors that ensured that PSG had "handed over the keys" to the project to Kylian Mbappe, with multiple promises involved, the 2022/23 season of the Parisian team is not exactly proof of this.

The PSG squad was not 'Frenchified', Neymar continued in the team, not a single capable center forward was signed, and on and on it goes. Let's say things that Mbappe supposedly asked fo were mostly not accomplished, which fostered rumors about a potential exit coming as soon as this summer.

Simply put, PSG was unable to put together a truly competitive team around the French striker. After crashing out of the Coupe de France against Marseille and being prematurely eliminated by Bayern Munich in the Champions League (in the round of 16 in both competitions) the Parisian project was once again put into question.

PSG are not considering selling Kylian Mbappe and they are already working on his renewal

The most frequent question, obviously, is... will Kylian Mbappe stay at PSG next season? Well, the forward himself has already made it clear that he, in effect, will continue next year in Paris. However, this could be the Parisian board's last chance to convince him to stay for a longer period of time once his deal runs out... in June 2024.

That's correct. It must be made clear that according to L'Equipe, and some Spanish media, Mbappe's contract only "really" goes through June 2024, and the striker would have to decide whether to extend it until 2025. no later than July 2023.

PSG released an official statement indicating that the renewal signed by Mbappe a few months ago runs through June 2025, and Mbappe has never denied that's the case.

Whatever the terms, Paris Saint-Germain want to avoid any setbacks and trouble down the road, and according to Loic Tanzi (h/t PSGhub) of L'Equipe, the PSG board intends to extend Kylian Mbappe's contract again as soon as possible.

Tanzi revealed that PSG are "not concerned about the future of the French striker," adding that the club will not consider selling Mbappe "under any circumstances" this summer.
