On the eve of the match, it’s already possible to take a first look at the likely absentees for Reims vs PSG, the Ligue 1 MD5 fixture set to take place this Saturday. Click here for key information such as team news, predicted lineups, and how to watch Stade de Reims vs PSG on TV. Paris will probably have a new absentee compared to the Girona match, while Reims will be missing at least four players.
There’s no time to rest for PSG. After their narrow but crucial 1-0 win against Girona on Wednesday night in the Champions League, PSG will be back on the pitch this Saturday evening in Reims for Ligue 1’s MD5. PSG will be looking to secure their fifth consecutive league win and maintain their position as leaders, but they will have to do so while dealing with several absentees.
Long-term injuries for Lucas Hernandez, Presnel Kimpembe, and Goncalo Ramos remain, and Gianluigi Donnarumma, who sustained a right thigh injury against Brest last Saturday and has been receiving treatment this week, is also likely to remain unavailable. On Wednesday against Girona, PSG also lost Marco Asensio to injury, after he felt a twinge in his right thigh and was substituted late in the first half for Randal Kolo Muani.
The Spaniard, who has been deployed as a false nine since the start of the season, is set to undergo medical tests this Thursday, and it’s highly probable that he’ll be ruled out for the trip to Reims this Saturday. This could pave the way for young striker Ibrahim Mbaye, who was suspended for the Girona match on Wednesday (both in the Youth League and Champions League), to return to the squad this weekend.

Luis Enrique will have no suspended players for this Reims-PSG clash, which is not the case for the home side. Sent off on matchday one against Lille after a harsh foul on Angel Gomes, young Ivorian midfielder Amadou Kone (19 years old) will serve the fourth and final match of his suspension against PSG.
On loan to Reims from PSG, Gabriel Moscardo has yet to make his Ligue 1 debut and will have to wait a little longer, as his coach Luka Elsner explained during a press conference on Thursday:
"Gabriel Moscardo, who has more structural than muscular issues in his hip and pelvis, is nearing the end of his recovery and will gradually rejoin the group in the coming days."
The Brazilian will not be ready in time for the PSG match, along with Kenyan centre-back Joseph Okumu (groin) and French-Ivorian defender Abdoul Kone (hamstring).
However, Reims could see the return of their Danish international striker Mohamed Daramy, who suffered a serious knee injury six months ago. According to Luka Elsner, Daramy isn’t yet at 100%, but he’s training well and could be included in the squad on Saturday. After a 2-0 loss to Lille on matchday one, Reims earned a point away at Marseille (2-2) before defeating Rennes (2-1) and Nantes (2-1). The Champenois are 6th in Ligue 1 ahead of this MD5 fixture, five points behind PSG.
