This Wednesday, 18 September, Paris Saint-Germain began their European campaign as they hosted Girona at the Parc des Princes for MD1 of the new UEFA Champions League league phase.

PSG came into the match after a strong start in the French league, with 4 wins from 4 games and 16 goals scored. Meanwhile, Michel’s side had not enjoyed the best start to their La Liga season, with just 2 wins from their first 5 matches.

Luis Enrique fielded the following starting XI: Safonov - Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Nuno Mendes - Zaire-Emery, Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz - Dembele, Asensio, Barcola. On the other hand, Michel lined up his team as follows: Gazzaniga - Martinez, Lopez, Krejci, Gutierrez - Martin, Romeu, van de Beek - Tsygankov, Gil - Stuani.
