PSG targets Lookman as transfer window ticks down
However, a new name has emerged in recent hours in connection with the Rouge & Bleu: Ademola Lookman. After an impressive 2023-2024 season with Atalanta Bergamo (45 matches across all competitions, 17 goals, and 10 assists), the 26-year-old Nigerian international is still under contract with his club until 2026.
Indicating uncertainty about his future with Atalanta, Lookman has reportedly requested not to be called up for the match against Lecce this Monday, according to Sky Sports. Lookman himself is open to a move to Paris and has informed his management that he has received an offer from PSG.
According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, the Parisian club has intensified discussions with the player's representatives. "The interest is strong, and the initial signals from Ademola Lookman are more than positive. Negotiations are in their early stages, but everything could accelerate this week," reports FM.
However, as of now, no official offer has been made to the Italian club's management. According to Sky Sports Italia, Atalanta has not been approached by the Parisian club. The Dea is reportedly frustrated with the player’s behavior. It remains to be seen if the 2024 Europa League winner is willing to let go of such an important player just days before the transfer window closes.
According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, the club has set Lookman's price at €55 million. This deal could accelerate in the coming hours.
