PSG set to extend contracts of Real Madrid, Man City transfer targets

Named PSG vice-captains just ten days ago, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Achraf Hakimi are in discussions with the club about extending their contracts, which run until 2026. Talks are progressing well for both 25-year-olds.
Gianluigi Donnarumma, who suffered a right thigh injury against Brest on 14th September, had to miss the Champions League match against Girona and last weekend’s game against Reims.
However, he could return this Friday for the home match against Rennes, having resumed training at PSG’s campus on Monday, while his teammates enjoyed their second consecutive day off.
Donnarumma, named PSG vice-captain on 13th September, is a key figure for PSG's 2024/2025 squad. His future looks to be in Paris, with contract extension talks underway.
His agent, Enzo Raiola, confirmed to the Italian sports daily Tuttosport (h/t CulturePSG) that discussions are already in progress:
“He’s expressed many times that he feels very comfortable in Paris. The project has evolved positively. The team is more united now. There are no longer the big stars like Messi, Neymar, and others, but rather a young group hungry for victories.
The extension? He still has two years left, so there’s no urgency. But yes, the first discussions have taken place. Luis Campos even admitted publicly that he wants to keep Gigio. From our side, we are keen to stay. For me, it’s a source of pride to have a player like him at one of the world’s top clubs.
Right now, he is the flag-bearer for our national team, and he could become that for PSG too. It would be a pleasure. Returning to Italy? Agents always say, 'Never say never,' and I’ll say the same. You never know, but for now, it’s practically impossible.”

Similarly, Achraf Hakimi (25), who is another key player for PSG this season, even had the honour of wearing the captain's armband in the first match of the season against Le Havre.
Like Donnarumma, Hakimi’s contract runs until 2026, and in July, the Moroccan international agreed in principle with PSG on a contract extension, as initially reported by RMC Sport. The finer details are still being worked out, but the trend points towards a new deal being signed.
In recent hours, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that PSG views Hakimi as a key part of their long-term project and is actively working to secure his contract extension.
According to reports, Donnarumma has also attracted interest from Manchester City, while Hakimi is reportedly on the radar of Real Madrid.
Other important PSG players with contracts expiring in 2026 include left-back Nuno Mendes (22), Presnel Kimpembe (29), who is hoping to rejoin the squad next month, and the Spaniards Marco Asensio (28) and Arnau Tenas (23).
