In search of a goalkeeper to compete with Gianluigi Donnarumma, PSG is preparing to sign the Russian goalkeeper from FK Krasnodar: Matvey Safonov.
Just after PSG concluded its season with a victory against OL in the Coupe de France final, transfer rumors quickly began to dominate the media. Known for its surprising moves in the transfer market, PSG is currently eyeing a somewhat unexpected target.
With Keylor Navas departing and the uncertain futures of Sergio Rico and Alexandre Letellier, many expected PSG to rely on Arnau Tenas to challenge "Gigio."
However, the Parisian management seems unconvinced of the Spanish goalkeeper's ability to provide strong competition for the number one spot. Therefore, Matvey Safonov, the 25-year-old Russian international goalkeeper, is set to be the chosen one to back up Gianluigi Donnarumma. The deal is progressing well and is reportedly nearing completion.
Luis Campos has turned his attention to the Russian league and specifically to FK Krasnodar's captain, Matvey Safonov. According to Foot Mercato, PSG has almost finalized the signing of the 25-year-old goalkeeper, with an agreement already reached between the parties.
